About Purity

Starting in 1993, through our commitment to safety and research into creating product excellence, we were led to a small manufacturing company in Kittanning, PA. This company, the Myers Vacuum Repair Services, manufactures a unique device for oil processing that can remove all possible contaminants. This device is called Molecular Distillation.

Throughout the 1960s’ and 1970s’ large scale producers of animal, fish, and vegetable oils were being bombarded with concerns about consumer safety, and rightly so. As a consequence of discarding manufacturing waste and nuclear bomb testing, the air we breathe, our oceans, and all types of vegetation, contains small amounts of elements that can be detrimental to our health. In particular, fish oil capsules were found to have alarming amounts of contaminants. And, just like the stored fats of fish, because of diets, animal fats are known to contain several of the same contaminants. FYI, Emu oil is rendered and refined fat of Emus.

As a result of consumer concerns and research by the late 1970s’, the Government mandated that large scale producers of these oils must remove these contaminants, but how to do it?

The answer to this problem became a device that was invented by the Eastman-Kodak company many years before that. That device is Molecular Distillation.

For complete information about the Molecular Distillation process, this information can be found on the internet.

As mentioned previously, Molecular Distillation Refining can eliminate all possible contaminants found in Emu oil. These discarded contaminants are called “distillate”. To review the distillate that was withdrawn from the reported “fully refined” Emu oil of three other producers, please visit emu-oil.com, the Emu Oil Educational Site and read the article titled “The Latest Technologies Come to Emu Oil”.

So, why is removing these contaminants from Emu oil so important?

The three most sought after effects of Emu oil are:  its ability to reduce inflammation in muscles and joints, its ability to aid nutritional deficiencies and, its ability to moisturize the skin and rebuild collagen under the dermis (skin), to aid in reducing wrinkles.

In order for Emu oil to create these wonders, it must be ingested or it must be able to penetrate all layers of our dermis. And, while it is no small feat for any substance to penetrate all layers of human skin, Emu oil is touted as being a great “transdermal carrier”.

Whether ingested or carried through the skin, this is why our commitment to consumer safety, through purity, represents the first “cornerstone” of Longview Farm’s original and remaining foundation.

About Efficacy

Efficacy defined in this matter, involves the desire and ability to produce the best possible product. For refining Emu oil, the desire is a mind-set and the ability is achieved through the use of the best available technology and state-of-the-art equipment.

Unlike the need to go to great lengths to describe Purity through Molecular Distillation Refining, describing efficacy through Molecular Distillation Refining is much easier.

What has not been explained about Molecular Distillation is the device’s ability to separate the finished product refined oil into individual categories and maintain every beneficial aspect within the oil.

In the case of refining Longview Farms Emu oil, our process of choice is two-fold; 1. Removal and disposal of all contaminates, which have now become distillate, and
2. Maintain and hold within the finished Emu oil, every category of beneficial nutrition (fatty acids).

This commitment to efficacy represents Longview Farms’ never ending dedication, to this second “cornerstone” of our foundation.

About Prices:

Over the years, many producers of Emu oil, most of which are no longer in business, complained that Longview Farm’s Emu oil prices were too low. A good example of this was our creation of Emu Oil Gel Capsules and pricing them at $15.00 per bottle. Wow, what an uproar that caused. Some even said that we were trying to “Walmart-ize” the Industry.

At that same time, Longview’s expenditures on refining equipment and sanitary facilities far exceeded our competitors. And most importantly, Longview’s costs of commitment to factual reporting of required processing procedures and Certification of Analysis has far out-stripped all of our competitors.

At Longview Farms, we have no knowledge of production and employee costs or the administrative effectiveness of the few competitors that remain. What is known is that (as of this writing) Longview Farms is now starting its 32nd year in the Emu oil business. And, despite producing and selling the world’s best Emu oil at a price structure far below our competitors, we are doing just fine and continuing to grow.

In a personal note: During these times of economic down-turns, as President of Longview Farms, I am proud of our efforts to continue this third “cornerstone” to make Emu oil affordable to each and every American.

Now nearing our 32nd year, Longview Farm’s initial and remaining commitment to our planned fourth cornerstone of “Longevity through Consumer Trust” speaks for itself.
